3.) TRON: LEGACY SOUNDTRACK by Daft Punk
Okay … I might have been one of the few people who liked Tron: Legacy but to be honest I’m pretty sure this was mostly because of the $%&ing awesome soundtrack by soundtrack freshman, Daft Punk. This Hans Zimmer-esque funky-techno-symphonic explosion I listened to about a dozen times before the movie even came out. Not often does a soundtrack have so many tracks that I’ll listen to individually just for the heck of it. Just try to listen to “Recognizer” without imagining a heroic movie trailer with epic battles and worlds exploding. The Daft Punk duo took their unique sound and mixed it with an 85-piece orchestra to enhance the clean, cyber-hyper-realism so well crafted by the fantastic visuals and directing style of Joseph Kosinski in the film. Yes … there were plot holes and dialogue like “Bio-digital jazz man” and I won’t defend that. But in regards to the soundtrack … good stuff. Fun Fact: This is Daft Punk’s first top 10 album.
Scott Wauchope can’t stop making sh** up. Every day something he sees or experiences makes some collection of neurons in his brain go aflutter with electricity and he begins obsessing over a random character, story, or bit of dialogue that won’t go away until he writes it down. Now, he must share these things with you, whether you like it or not.
